Mobicamp is a Barcamp

2009 April 17

Mobicamp is a barcamp. This means that although it’s a very informal gathering, it’s important for attendees to participate. For example, you could give a short session (sessions are on the order of 10 minutes or so) on some mobile tech you’re familiar with or help someone else give a session. Engage with other Mobicamp attendees — community and entrepreneurship are a big part of Mobicamp’s vision. :)

Mobicamp’s agenda is approximately (more detailed timeline w/ times and such coming soon):
- Arrive at ATDC @ 5PM
- Mingle
- I’ll talk about Mobicamp and introduce all of the sponsors who made it possible (it’s not cheap!)
- Signup for sessions
- Sessions/breakouts
- Dinner and more mingling
- More sessions/breakouts
- Head home at 10PM infused with > knowledge about mobile tech and a deeper rolodex of cool folks

Please note that while Mobicamp itself is free for attendees (thanks to the sponsors on the right), parking at the ATDC is not. There are a few spots around surface streets but I usually park in the Centergy (sp?) lot behind the ATDC. I think it’s one dollar per hour and they do take Visa/Mastercard.
